WXV Global Series on social media: special milestones, unforgettable memories and remarkable feats

We are at the end of the 2026 WXV Global Series, but before the final weekend of contests takes the stage, enjoy some highlights from this past week's social media.

Canada took the spotlight over the weekend after bagging another win over the Women's Rugby World Cup 2025 champions, but it wasn't the only highlight of a couple of enjoyable final days.

From cap milestones to great beginnings, we strung together some of the best social media moments from the last week of WXV Global Series 2026.

Special memories made in Ottawa

Canada has once again beaten England, overcoming the Women's Rugby World Cup 2025 champions in front of 12,000 fans who came out to support and enjoy the moment at Ottawa's TD Place Stadium.

At full-time, players felt the warm embrace of their proud supporters, who loudly cheered and backed Canada throughout their home series of the WXV Global Series, with Rugby Canada sharing a glimpse of the post-game scenes.

A clash of generations

The USA Women's Eagles are putting the final touches on the big welcome they'll give England this Friday, but before the Women's Eagles can fight for a chance to claim a sixth win in a row, they were invited to a generational contest!

Kate Zackary and Hope Rogers in the experienced corner, and Abigail Paton and Olivia Woods in the newcomers' corner, trading blows and sharing knowledge about the past and future, while living in one of the proud Eagles family's best moments. In the end, this brilliant and heavy mix of generations will join forces to deliver another memorable performance come Friday.

A year of new blossoms Japan

Japan might not have beaten Wales, but that doesn't mean there wasn't time to celebrate the start of the test match journey for Sophie Akiko Langford and Savanah Bodman.

The former came off the bench to try to push the Sakura Fifteen towards a win, and although it didn't end how she envisioned, it was still a once-in-a-lifetime moment for the 22-year-old. With one game left before Japan's WXV Global Series 2026 campaign ends, stories like hers have painted the competition in its best colours.

50 caps for the one and only, Neve Jones

Ireland's stellar performance over South Africa wasn't the only highlight of one of the weekend's most entertaining contests, as one of the Irish team's true greats reached a special milestone: Neve Jones earned her 50th cap.

Jones has been through thick and thin, proudly serving and representing her country over the last six years, helping it become one of the world's top eight nations, and is ambitious to reach the summit of the women's game.

With more history to make, Neve Jones has undoubtedly been one of Ireland's best performers, and the 50th cap is only the middle of the journey.

Michela Sillari, an Azzure household name

Speaking of caps and milestones, we must highlight Michela Sillari's 100th international cap, one of the greatest players to ever wear the 'Savoy blue' jersey, who has poured every bit of herself into the Italian women's rugby cause.

Although Italy could not beat the USA in their final game of the WXV Global Series campaign, Sillari successfully got four points from the tee and made several plays to help the Azzurre thrive at Geodis Park.

At 33, Sillari shows no signs of slowing down; she is adamant about helping Italy return to its best and is ready to strike the ball toward the posts from anywhere on the pitch!
